Why an Indigenous worldview makes better decisions
Taiao at the Centre
Every decision begins by asking what this means for the natural world — alongside the economic and operational outcomes that keep organisations viable.
Human Oversight
Technology should support human judgement — not replace it. Every AI response is logged, reviewable, and accountable
Your Knowledge — Not Ours
Tupuna Pai is built from your organisation's own values, strategy, and knowledge. We do not bring the answers. We build the system that honours yours
Be a Great AncestorThe test of every decision is simple — what do our mokopuna inherit from this? That question is woven into every response Tupuna Pai generates.
Built for organisations who think in generations — not quarters

In an Indigenous worldview everything is connected. The decision you make about a paddock affects the stream. The stream affects the ocean. The ocean affects the kai. The kai affects the community. The community shapes the next generation.
Most AI tools ignore that interconnectedness. Tupuna Pai is built on it.
We help organisations align everyday decisions with their long-term values — through transparent governance, grounded organisational knowledge, and AI that asks the intergenerational question every time.

Grounded in real-world stewardship

Tupuna Pai was founded by a Maori tech leader and developed alongside Whāngārā Farms — a Maori-owned farming enterprise on the East Coast of Aotearoa New Zealand — as our founding partner.
Whāngārā Farms brought their He Rau Ake Ake 100-year Whenua Optimisation Plan, their Four Pou values framework, and their deep commitment to being good ancestors. We built the technology that makes those values actionable in every governance decision.
This is not AI with an Indigenous flavour. It is an Indigenous worldview expressed through AI.
Governance and accountability by design
Designed for organisations balancing long-term responsibility
Support long-term environmental, operational, and intergenerational decision-making.
Across governments, organisations, and communities, many decisions are made with good intentions.
Yet over time, short-term pressures, fragmented information, and competing priorities can create misalignment between values and actions.
Tupuna Pai was created to support more transparent, accountable, and long-term decision-making — helping organisations remain connected to the responsibilities they hold today and the generations that follow.
